Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network celebrity with her signature spikey blonde hair and exuberant personality, shares easy to learn techniques and eliminates the fear of eating at restaurants in her show Secrets of a Restaurant. Chef Burrell has worked and studied in some of the most prestigious New York restaurants. He was also a part of Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and food at an early age. The Culinary Institute of America is where she enrolled to earn an English degree as well as a communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most enjoyable time of my life. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one period of time in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and working in La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater appreciation of Italian culinary and cultural traditions while in Italy that has informed her style of cooking. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which helps brighten children living with obstacles and is also a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. She talks about her culinary passion, and also shares her knowledge of the culinary world when she travels throughout the US in both her roles as speakers and mentors. Anne has stated throughout her professional career she's grateful to be able to share what's essential to her.
